Mitophagy in Muscle Stem cells
Mitophagy changes rapidly in MuSCs transitioning from quiescence to differentiation. We recently initiated a new line of projects in which we use mouse models harbouring MuSCs specific knockouts of mitophagy genes to define how mitochondrial quality control pathways shape the metabolic phenotype and behaviour of MuSCs and whether these pathways can be targeted to improve muscle regeneration.
